Harvest by hand

From the vineyard to your table

Harvesting grapes at the Cantine Il Barone is made exclusively by hand. This is an activity that needs accurency this is why only the family of Andrea Cescon do it. The period of harvesting is September and October.
The grapes are strictly handpicked at the right time, then the grapes are placed into small boxes before being pressed.
The harvest is a tradition that happens every year, keeping families together. You have to harvest the grapes when grains are fully matured. It seems that harvesting is an easy activity but there is so much hard work to do. Grapes are the fruit of the land that passing by the expert hands of Andrea to become our special wine.

Our  basic types of wines are 7, which with different processes and treatments became almost the double.
The harvest rule is “a good wine is made from good grapes”. This is why we usually use special scissors to put grapes in boxes, making sure that they will not crush  on the bottom.
